English Sports Betting – Different but the Same

Sports betting in the USA and English sports betting are not fundamentally different. The premise is the same, just some of the terminology is different and the sports that are commonly featured are a little different. In English sports betting, bookmakers have the same goal as bookies in the United States do. They wish to get equal action on either side of a bet so that they earned their profit from the vigorish. The vigorish is simply the take that a bookmaker receives for placing a bet. If they get equal bets on either side, then the outcome of the game doesn’t matter as they earn money no matter what happens.

As we have entered the Internet age, so too have English sports betting organizations. So long as betting is legal in your country and you have reached the age of majority, you can place bets on the websites of legitimate English bookmakers. Despite efforts by the United States to limit the amount of people using betting sites from the UK, a World Trade Organization finding against the U.S. has opened the doors.
